My Favorite Anchor Bible VERSES

Saturday, April 25, 2015

God has filled my path with wonderful and enriching experiences along the way, all designed to bring out the best in my person.

Throughout my journey through the different seasons in my life, I have held on to the following verses which serve as my light to get through:

1. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always

perseveres. Love never fails."

--- This verse encompasses what True Love really means. It has guided me through every relationship I am into. It reminds me of the Love of my God for me and it also sets forth the ways by which I should love my family, my friends, my co-workers, the strangers I bump into, and everyone else. And someday, God only knows when, I will hear this being read in my own wedding. :)

2. Jeremiah 29:11

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

--- Whenever I come to a point that I do not understand why things happen the way they do and I feel lost, I just hold on to this, trusting that something good will always come out of every circumstance. Truly, He has never failed to surprise me in every way. And I always look forward to His Bests. The Best is yet to Come! Amen!

3. Matthew 11:28-30

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

--- There have been times in my life when I hit rock bottom and adversities tend to block my sight with worries and anxieties. And no matter how resilient I have come to be, still often, I can't carry the weight of my burdens all by myself. That's when I seek refuge and surrender. Whenever I read this verse, it's like God giving me a BIG hug, telling me, "Be still, my Child. This is on me."

4. 1 John 4:18

"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love."

--- I have had my fair share of heartbreaks: the pain of infidelity, rejections, unrequited love, name it, I experienced them all. You can say I may have all the reasons to shield and save myself from all the pain, yet, after everything I have been through, still, I am unafraid to try to love again. Maybe it's because I feel so much love in my heart that to keep it inside will be like going against my natural inclination so I'd rather get hurt in trying. With this verse, I know when True Love has finally found its way to me. Because by then, I shall Fear Less and Love More.

5. Proverbs 31: 10 - 31

Some lines from the verse:

"A wife of noble character who can find?

She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.
17 She sets about her work vigorously;
   her arms are strong for her tasks.
20 She opens her arms to the poor
    and extends her hands to the needy.
She is clothed with strength and dignity;
    she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
    and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
    and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
    her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women do noble things,
    but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
    but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
    and let her works bring her praise at the city gate."

--- It is my prayer to be my God's Gift's P 31. :)
